From Nurse to Culture Strategist

Annastacia Wainaina is a culture strategist, global keynote speaker and executive coach. She works with CEOs, boards and executive teams in healthcare, aged care, emergency services and frontline operations. Her work rests on one conviction: belonging is not a buzzword but the human birthright to be seen, valued and deeply connected, and when culture is treated as strategy, organisations reduce attrition, lift engagement and accelerate results.

Her journey started on the plains of Kenya, where as a child she dreamed about all the possibilities for her life. Courage and curiosity took her to Finland, where she studied nursing, and in 2007 to Sydney.

In Sydney she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Centenary Institute, then moved into aged care leadership as Clinical Manager at Bupa Australia and Manager, Facilities at RSL LifeCare. Alongside her nursing career she trained in business, law and executive coaching. That frontline and clinical governance experience is what she brings into the rooms where culture is decided.

In 2014 she returned to Kenya to adopt a child, and found that the adoption laws meant to protect children were leaving them exposed to abuse, exploitation and trafficking. In January 2015 she founded Make It Happen, a charity focused on child advocacy, adoption and foster care policy in Kenya.

Today she hosts The Human Edge Podcast and is the author of Ignite: Blazing The Fires Inside of You. She is a member of Professional Speakers Australia and received an Honourable Mention in the Leadership category of the AusMumpreneur Business Awards 2025.
